Better When He's Bad Book Review- Jay Crownover

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jay Crownover returns with a heart-stopping new series… Welcome to the Point.
There’s a difference between a bad boy and a boy who’s bad . . . meet Shane Baxter.
Sexy, dark, and dangerous, Bax isn’t just from the wrong side of the tracks, he is the wrong side of the tracks. A criminal, a thug, and a brawler, he’s the master of bad choices, until one such choice landed him in prison for five years. Now Bax is out and looking for answers, and he doesn’t care what he has to do or who he has to hurt to get them. But there’s a new player in the game, and she’s much too innocent, much too soft…and standing directly in his way.
Dovie Pryce knows all about living a hard life and the tough choices that come with it. She’s always tried to be good, tried to help others, and tried not to let the darkness pull her down. But the streets are fighting back, things have gone from bad to worse, and the only person who can help her is the scariest, sexiest, most complicated ex-con The Point has ever produced.
Bax terrifies her, awakening feelings she never thought she’d have for a guy like him. But it doesn't take Dovie long to realize . . . some boys are just better when they’re bad

My Rating 5 Martinis

My Review- Bree
Bax isn't your typical leading man. He's been in jail, steals cars, and he makes bad choices.. Better When He's Bad is the first book in the  Welcome to the point series I love, love, LOVED it. This book gets five martinis with a huge book hangover! Jay Crownover does a tremendous job creating diverse characters and storylines that you don't normally find in New Adult fiction. First off, the story line moves past your typical love story. There are controlling thugs, mind-blowing secrets, good cop/ bad cop issues, and  a world of stolen goods. Dovie isn't your normal character, she is completely average looking with tremendous family issues but somehow she steals Bax's heart with her innocence and huge heart. Then there is Race, her half brother, who had gone missing. Where is he? Is he dead or alive? Did Novak, the crime lord, hunt him down? Without any spoilers, I found myself immersed in this fictional world with the rules, society, and Bax's relentless need for answers. When reading the book, I found myself entangled in the secrets trying to figure out who was on what side and who to trust.  I live in a smaller town, so It was exciting to read about  how a larger city might operate.  If Jay wanted  a new book series that isn't afraid to push the limits, then she has succeeded!  I recommend this book to anyone who likes mystery, passion, and isn't afraid to read about character's who aren't perfect. I can't wait to read the next book, Better When he is Bold as well. Counting the days...till then I will patiently wait for Rowdy to come out!

  1. Wonderful review! I can't wait to read this. I like the hot tattooed bad boy who's a little bit broody, mysterious, and definitely dominant. Thanks for the giveaway!
