Synopsis

Plagued by past mistakes in both love and life, Quinn Bardot is in a bad place. With nowhere else to turn, she escapes to LA clinging to the promise of a fresh start.

Chase Crowley is known for being selfish and unbelievably persistent. All he's ever wanted is to become a successful actor. But now that he is about to have it all, he finds that something is still missing. Money and fame isn't what he expected.

After a fervent encounter, the two of them are thrown into a situation that neither is prepared for. Can Quinn extinguish her fears and let Chase in? Can Chase learn to put someone else's needs before his own?

The Last Thing is a novel all about love, Hollywood, and accepting what life throws at you even if it is the last thing you want.

(This is a New Adult Romance novel & contains language & adult situations. Not recommended for readers younger than 17)
***The Last Thing is a stand alone book with NO cliff hanger ending. It is book one in the Hollywood Timelines series.***

I had a mini-preview of this so I already knew what I was getting into. I already knew it was going to be both emotional and frustrating, but not in a bad way.

It starts off with the story and point of view of Quinn’s point of view, she just moved to California with her best friend, Ginger. Her new roommate also happens to be an actress on a daytime drama. We don’t know much about Quinn but we do know that she went through something very traumatic. From there we switch to Chase’s point of view. He’s one of Ginger’s costars who is dealing with a sense of emptiness and the need to be better. He feels that he won’t get that, until her meets Quinn.

She’s extremely different from the normal models and actresses he dates. She showed up to a Hollywood party with old converse, now neither him nor Quinn wanted a long relationship. All they wanted was a one night stand. But fate wanted other things.

So I completely ate this story up! It sounds like it might be cliché but its honestly not. It’s fun and you can completely lose yourself in Quinn and Chase’s world because it’s written so realistically. I recently read another book where the main guy was an actor and our leading lady was a plain jane. It was awful. This was not the case with The Last Thing. Mainly because Quinn was no plain jane, she didn’t want to be famous but she was still this sassy lovable girl who had an awful past. Throughout to book were trying to figure out what exactly happened to her.

Chase is your regular player turned homermaker, the difference is that even though he loves Quinn he's realistic about it, and when I read chapters from Chase's point of view he actually sounded like a man not some love struck teenager.

As for side characters, there's not many, its mostly just Ginger and the paparazzi. Ginger was fun and even though she was self-absorbed she still tried her best to be a good friend. I can't wait to read her story and see her point of view.

Overall this is a must read for New-Adult lovers and you will fall in love with Quinn and Chase.
